More Power, More Energy

How does Power Ergonomics help increase strength and energy?

When the body works in a unified and elevated manner it is automatically strong. When this unity is weakened and elevation is lost, it automatically loses power. It’s that simple.

The way we balance the body is one of the principal factors that determines whether or not the body works in a unified and elevated manner or not. The way we hold the body is also fundamental, which is why it is wise to sort out the ideas that support elevation and unity from the ones that invoke oppression and collapse (confounding thinking). Unfortunately most people seem to be unaware that commonly accepted ideas such as ‘keep your back straight’ and ‘plumb line alignment’ actually prevent elevation. These ‘instructions’ actually help to create the internal mechanical disruption (loss of strength and energy) that we seek to avoid by practicing them.

A gym is one excellent place to experiment with Power Ergonomics. When we correct our balance and eliminate confounding thinking and then try some exercises, it is easy to measure at least a 15-20% increase in strength (the weights and machines won’t lie). It is also easier to run faster or further with less effort.

But what has really happened? Clearly we haven’t ‘added more muscle’ or stored more energy.

Power Ergonomics helps increase strength and release energy because it helps restore unified power to our actions.

Watch the following videos!

See how Alex Grundberg (a qualified Personal Trainer) and Magnus Alnesjö demonstrate the difference between training oppressed and elevated at a gym (each part is just less than 10 minutes). Then consider the power gains to be made in other areas...

Remember that the increases in power demonstrated by Alex and Magnus were caused by a restoration of unified power, and not through the addition of more muscle, the use of more will power, the use of drugs...or by eating spinach!

Alex and Magnus learned the basics of Power Ergonomics in two 4 hour lessons while studying to become massage therapists at Axelsons. Both were then able to apply the principles in their gym training, on their own (proving its ease of application and universality). And both agree now that what they were always taught to do at the gym corresponds very closely to oppressed use...
